Our Scoring System

Each bookmaker is scored 0–10 across 5 dimensions. The final OTBB score is a weighted average reflecting the areas that matter most to Indian bettors. Our guiding question: "Would we trust this bookmaker with our own money?"

The Five Dimensions — Full Breakdown

25%

1. OTBB Offer Value Score

Evaluates welcome bonuses across five sub-criteria. Each sub-criterion is scored 0–10 and multiplied by its weighting to produce the overall offer score.

Sub-criteria breakdown:

  • Total Value (35%) — The headline INR bonus amount relative to the market. A ₹20,000 bonus scores higher than ₹8,000.
  • Wagering Requirements (25%) — Lower rollover = higher score. 5x accumulator wagering scores significantly better than 15x deposit+bonus.
  • Minimum Odds (20%) — Lower minimum odds = better. No minimum scores 10/10. Requirements of 1.8+ score poorly.
  • Payment Exclusions (10%) — Do UPI and crypto deposits qualify? Operators excluding popular Indian payment methods lose marks.
  • Expiry Window (10%) — Longer expiry = higher score. 30-day expiry (achievable across an IPL season) scores well. 7-day expiry is tight.

2. OTBB Trust Index

The Trust Index is one of the two most important components of our rating. It measures the reliability and security of the bookmaker for Indian users.

What we assess:

  • Licensing credentials — Valid Curaçao eGaming or MGA licence. Additional international licences (UKGC, Gibraltar) score higher.
  • Regulatory history — Any fine, sanction, or unresolved complaint triggers a significant score reduction regardless of other factors.
  • Responsible gambling tools — Deposit limits, session limits, self-exclusion, cooling-off periods.
  • Operational transparency — Clear terms and conditions, accessible company information, published complaint resolution processes.
  • Reputation — Trustpilot and review site ratings normalised to a 10-point scale, weighted by review volume. Years of operation considered.
  • Data security — SSL encryption, data protection practices, two-factor authentication availability.

3. OTBB Margin Grade

Margins directly affect the value you get from your bets. Lower margins mean better odds for you. We compare odds across cricket, football, tennis, and other sports vs 10+ competitors.

How we measure:

  • IPL match winner markets — Primary benchmark for Indian operators. We sample 20+ IPL matches per season.
  • Premier League 1X2 — Secondary benchmark across 20 fixtures per operator monthly.
  • Other sports — Tennis, kabaddi, and basketball margins spot-checked quarterly.

Scoring guide:

9–10: Sub-5% margins (excellent, exchange-level)
7–8: 5–6% margins (good, competitive)
5–6: 6–7% margins (average, typical Curaçao sites)
Below 5: 7%+ margins (poor value)

4. OTBB Feature Completeness

Evaluates the breadth and quality of features available to Indian bettors — from mobile apps to live streaming and betting tools.

What we assess:

  • Mobile app quality — Android APK and iOS app tested on multiple devices over 2-week periods. Crash frequency, speed, biometric login.
  • Live streaming — Availability for cricket (IPL, internationals), football, and other sports.
  • Betting tools — Cash out, bet builder, live scoreboards, statistics, and analytics centres.
  • Market depth — Number of markets per IPL/cricket match. 150+ scores well. Under 50 scores poorly.
  • Language support — Hindi and other Indian languages (Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi).
  • Mid-range device performance — We test on devices popular in India, not just flagships.

5. OTBB Payment Flexibility

Measures the range of Indian payment methods, actual withdrawal speeds, fees, and INR deposit/withdrawal limits. Based on independent testing with real money.

What we test:

  • Indian payment methods — UPI, Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay. Operators supporting all four score highest.
  • Crypto support — BTC, ETH, USDT, and other cryptocurrencies. Increasingly important for Indian bettors.
  • E-wallets — Skrill, Neteller, AstroPay availability and processing speed.
  • Withdrawal speed — E-wallet withdrawals under 1 hour score 9+/10. Over 24 hours scores below 7/10. Bank transfers assessed separately.
  • Minimum deposit/withdrawal — Lower minimums score better. ₹55 minimum (22Bet/Melbet) vs ₹300 (Parimatch).
  • Fees — Any hidden deposit or withdrawal fees result in score deductions.

Our Review Process

1

Register & Test

We create a real account, deposit in INR via UPI, and test every feature as a regular Indian bettor would — from registration to withdrawal.

2

Score Across 5 Dimensions

We evaluate the bookmaker across all five dimensions, collecting data and comparing against competitors serving the Indian market.

3

Publish & Update

We publish a detailed review and regularly update scores when operators change their terms, features, or payment options.

Our Commitment

We review every bookmaker with the same level of detail and fairness. Our process is fully transparent, and we regularly update our reviews to reflect any changes to a platform's offering. We do not accept payment from operators to influence rankings.
